Mizukhiki is a Fringe play about newly wed couple Frank Bai and Lori Fujiwara (Kenneth Seto Tynan and Ayako Karasawa) dealing with culture clash.
Mizuhiki explores the challenges of being Asian within a Western setting while also exploring what it means to be from abroad and trying to amalgamate oneself into a culture that appears accepting.
Frank is a mixed heritage Chinese/German Canadian and Lori is a Japanese newcomer to Canada. This play deals with issues of being mixed heritage and trying find oneself and belonging and a newcomer trying to balance between cultural values and finding ways in new culture.
